
Architectural Details and Other Decorative Crafts: Invitational Exhibition

Available to Florida artists who create contemporary works of art that:
- Can be used by architects as an integral part of their design.
For example: rails, sinks, fire places, border materials, doors, and tiles.
- Decorative home products. Such as: furniture, lamps, knobs, rugs, kitchen wear, textiles and wall paper.
- Public and outdoors work. Consider benches, public bathroom accessories, garbage bins, newspaper racks, bus stops, bicycle racks.
To be included, all work must be made out of suitable materials. For example, public bathroom fixtures should be made out of stainless steel or a similar durable material. Outdoors work should be able to withstand the weather. Those with great but unrealized ideas can submit their plans in the form of drawings or maquettes.
Time line:
Exhibition dates: September 19-October 31, 2008
Preliminary submittals: April 4
Letter of acceptance: April 18
Work available for exhibition: Monday September 8
Work available for artist pick up: November 3-4, 2008

Submittals may arrive via email:
- Two high definition images representative of the proposed work. Electronic files should be at least, jpegs@300dpi.
- Those wishing to submit a proposal instead of a finished work are also required to send visual representation of their sketch or maquette.
- Short Biography.
- Resume
Accepted artist are welcome to include their portfolios. Those wishing to include their portfolio should advise us at the time of the submittal

All work will be insured while at Florida Craftsmen and will travel at the artist’s expense.
Included work will be listed in www.floridacraftsmen.net as a Florida resource. A DVD of the exhibition will be available for interested architects and others in the building trade.

Convergence 2008:Tampa Bay Textures in the Tropics
In June of this year The Handweavers Guild of America will host its fiber conference Convergence in the Tampa Bay Area. Florida Craftsmen will exhibit works of fiber in conjunction with the Convergence conference. We are also asking Member Artists to submit fiber works for the retail gallery to be showcased during the summer schedule. Please send images of your current work for review.
